Is Sex Bad News for Your Bladder?By:
When I have intercourse with my boyfriend it makes me feel as if I have to go to the bathroom. Could his penis be hitting my bladder and causing this sensation? Is this a common problem, and what do you suggest I do about it?
First of all, make sure that you urinate prior to engaging in intercourse with your boyfriend. It's not that you're likely to cause any physical damage to yourself if you don't, but the urge to urinate could become very distracting and could affect your sexual functioning. And you probably don't want to stop lovemaking in the middle to urinate, so it's always a good idea to take care of that before you start.
While I don't think your boyfriend's penis should be hitting your bladder, perhaps that is what is going on. Perhaps the sexual position you are using contributes to this feeling of discomfort, so using another position might be helpful to you.
For example, if you're now using the male superior, or missionary position, try switching to the female superior, or side-to-side, and see if it still happens.
If that doesn't do the trick, then I would advise you to visit a urologist and find out if everything is all right physically. Don't neglect this, have it checked out.
